Adjustable ring sizer on finger

How to Find Your Ring Size

Has a ring ever really caught your eye but as soon as you start to consider taking it home you realise you don't know your ring size?

What's the best way to find your perfect ring size? Can you find your ring size at home? We're here to help with our ring size guide.

Ring Sizers

In the UK we go by ring sizes A to Z+ where A is the smallest size. The best and most accurate way to get measured is by using a conventional ring sizer. You can find these online for around £2 or go to your local jeweller for them to take your size. Make sure when measuring your ring size that the ring will fit tight enough to slide over the knuckle with some resistance, but not too tight that circulation to the finger is lost at all. If you're worried about how a ring should fit, feel free to message us on Instagram so we can send you a video example of a perfect snug fit which can be put on and taken off properly.

Finding Your Ring Size at Home

The next best way to find your ring size is by using string or paper. If you want to find your ring size at home with no equipment this is a good option for you. Here you take the string or paper, wrap it around the finger and mark it where it fits best.

Make sure to wrap the finger as tight as you would want the ring to be to give an accurate finger size. Next, measure the string or paper as accurately as possible with a ruler in millimetres. You can then compare this circumference measurement to a ring size chart; or give us this measurement at Silver Hollow Jewellery for the perfect size to match. The ring diameter or inside diameter can also be used but the circumference is the best measurement for accuracy. Circumference will be the measurement you take around the finger.

Here's a size chart below that should help you determine your correct ring size:

Ring size charts can sometimes refer to US sizing or EU sizes, if you need any help converting these sizes into UK A-Z+ sizing this can also work as a size conversion chart, or we can help you at Silver Hollow Jewellery.
